Blokhaus chips in with Predator Free Port Hills

We’re proud to be a hardworking crew — not just on job sites, but in the community too.

If we’ve had spare labour recently, our team has been rolling up their sleeves and joining forces with Natasha and the crew at Predator Free Port Hills to help build wooden pest traps. These traps are vital tools in the fight to protect native wildlife around Ōtautahi Christchurch and the Port Hills region.

We’ve joined a dedicated group of volunteers to cut, drill, assemble, and paint dozens of traps designed to target introduced predators like rats and stoats. These animals threaten native birds like the kererū, tūī, and bellbird — and this grassroots initiative is making a real difference in turning the tide.

Massive thanks to Natasha (pictured with Richard from Blokhaus above) and the Predator Free Port Hills team for organising this community-focused activity.

If you’re a business with some capacity or a team that likes to give back, we encourage you to get involved. Every trap built is one step closer to a safer, wilder Aotearoa.
